Meet My Maker

I thought I had more Sundays

to go and mend my ways

thought I could stay a step ahead of trouble

until the Devil made me stumble

I casually declared I’d pay the cost

but I didn’t understand the pain I’d cause

When the sun goes down I'll meet my maker

mark it down as another wasted night

I'll pour judgement outta this steel shaker

and see how many wrongs it takes to make a right

I saw the Devil hangin' round outside

his hair was slick, and his grin was rakish

he gave me some good advice

because he knew I would never take it

I casually declared I’d pay the cost

but I didn’t understand the pain I’d cause

When the sun goes down I'll meet my maker

mark it down as another wasted night

I'll pour judgement outta this steel shaker

and see how many wrongs it takes to make a right

I hope some where it still exists, in an alternate dimension

where everything turns out right, and we end up together

When the sun goes down I'll meet my maker

mark it down as another wasted night

I'll pour judgement outta this steel shaker

and see how many wrongs it takes to make a right
